AI Answer Comparison
Type a buyer question and we run it across the AI engines at once, so you can compare their answers and see which sites each one leans on.
Why one question gets four different answers
The tool sends your question to every connected engine at once and puts the answers side by side, with the domains each one named underneath. The differences are not random. They come from how each engine assembles an answer: whether it searches the live web on this request, whose index it searches, and how much it leans on what it already believes.
Read the domain chips before you read the prose. A source cited by three engines is one the whole category trusts, and getting named there moves more than another rewrite of your own page. A source cited by one engine is that engine's quirk and rarely worth chasing.
Answers are trimmed here so the comparison stays readable on one screen, and the domain list under each answer shows up to eight sources. What you are looking for is overlap and absence, both of which survive the trim.
What drives each engine's answer
| Engine | Where its sources come from | What that means for you |
|---|---|---|
| ChatGPT | A live search on most questions, blended with what the model absorbed in training. | Being described consistently across the open web matters more than any single page you own. |
| Perplexity | A search on every request, with the sources listed beside the answer. | The fastest engine to reflect something you published this week, and the easiest to diagnose because it shows its work. |
| Google AI Overviews | Google's index, drawn mostly from pages already ranking for related queries. | Classic ranking is the entry ticket. Structure decides which passage of the ranking page gets quoted. |
| Google AI Mode | The same index, answering conversationally and citing more sources per answer. | More slots than an AI Overview, so a page that is second best still gets named. |
| Gemini | Google's index plus the model's own training. | Tracks the other Google surfaces without matching them, so it is worth reading separately rather than assumed. |
An engine missing from your result had no API key on this deployment and was never asked. Absence in the panel is not absence from the answer.
Answer comparison questions
Which engine should I care about most?
The one your buyers use, which you can approximate from referral traffic and from asking on sales calls. In most B2B categories ChatGPT carries the volume, while the Google surfaces reach people who never opened a chatbot at all. Track them together and weight by the traffic you can measure.
The engines contradict each other. Which one is right?
For your purposes the more useful question is why they differ. A contradiction usually means the underlying web disagrees, with two sources making incompatible claims about a category or a price. That is an opening: the clear, sourced version of the answer published on your own page is what a later crawl finds.
Do these answers change by country?
Yes, most of all for the search-backed surfaces. Google generates its answers per query and per region, so the same prompt from another country can return different sources. If you sell in several markets, check the ones that matter separately rather than assuming your local result travels.
Why is my domain highlighted in one answer but not counted elsewhere?
The highlight marks your domain wherever an engine named it in that answer. Each engine is scored on its own answer only, so being named by one and missed by three is the normal shape of an early result. The engines that missed you are the ones whose sources are worth reading.
