AI Brand Perception Checker
Enter your domain. We ask the AI engines to describe your brand and show you their answers, so you can catch what is outdated or plain wrong before a buyer reads it.
Where an engine's description of your brand comes from
Two sources, mixed together. What the model absorbed during training, which is months old at best and carries whatever the web said about you then, and what it retrieved a moment ago from your live site and the third-party pages it trusts. When those disagree, the answer you read is a blend, and the wrong part is usually the training half repeating something you have since changed.
The failure modes are dull and specific: pricing from a plan you retired, a positioning line lifted from your launch post, a feature list that stops at the last time anyone wrote about you, or your product blended with a similarly named company. None of this is hallucination in the interesting sense. It is stale fact, faithfully repeated.
Correcting it is slower than editing a page, because your site is one input and rarely the deciding one. The description changes when the sources the engine reads change, which means your own page plus the review sites, directories, and posts that repeat what your page says.
The four ways an engine gets a brand wrong
| What you see | Where it comes from | How it gets corrected |
|---|---|---|
| Outdated pricing or plan names | A pricing page the model saw before your last change, or a review site that never updated. | State the current price in plain text on your own page, with the number inside a sentence. A price that exists only inside an image or a chart is invisible to the engine. |
| The wrong category | You repositioned and the web still repeats the old description. | Say the category in the first sentence of the homepage and in the meta description. Engines quote the shortest clear statement they can find. |
| Features you never shipped | Your brand blended with a competitor or with a product that has a similar name. | Publish a page that says what the product does and what it does not do. A stated limit is more quotable than a claim, and it separates you from the product you are being confused with. |
| A vague or empty answer | Nothing about you was retrievable: a thin site, a blocked crawler, or no third-party coverage at all. | Check crawler access and indexing first, then get named somewhere with an audience. Being described badly is a better starting position than being unknown. |
Read the answers for what is missing as much as for what is wrong. An engine that describes you accurately while leaving out the thing you compete on has told you that your differentiator is not written down anywhere it can read.
Brand perception questions
Can I get an AI engine to correct a wrong fact about my company?
There is no form that edits the answer. You change the sources and wait. Publish the correct fact in plain text on a page of your own, ask the review sites and directories carrying the old version to update, and expect weeks rather than days, because retrieval picks it up quickly and the trained-in version fades slowly.
An engine says it has never heard of us. What now?
That is a retrieval problem before it is a reputation problem. Check that your pages are indexable and that no AI crawler is blocked in robots.txt, then look at whether anyone outside your own domain has written about you. An engine with nothing to read produces exactly this answer.
Why do two engines describe us differently?
Different training cutoffs and different retrieval. Perplexity searches on every request and tends to reflect a change you shipped last week. An engine leaning on what it already believes will keep repeating last year's description until the web around it moves.
A competitor is named in the answer about our brand. Is that bad?
It is common, and it tells you the engine sees the two of you as substitutes. The useful response is to publish your own comparison, stating the difference in your words with the cases where the other product is the better pick. Otherwise the engine will keep describing the difference using someone else's framing.
